Alfréd Schaffer (13 February 1893 – 30 August 1945) was a Hungarian footballer who has the distinction of playing for a record number of professional clubs; he played for a total of 21 clubs in a 15 year career which lasted from 1910–1925.[1]

He joined MTK Hungária FC in 1915 and helped the club win 3 consecutive league titles[2], and in the latter two of those seasons (1917–18 and 1918–19) he was the top European league goalscorer.[3]

After his playing days ended he became a football manager, and coached clubs such as 1. FC Nuremberg (for whom he also played), AS Roma and Ferencváros. He also coached Hungary at the 1938 FIFA World Cup.[4]

He died in the town of Prien am Chiemsee in 1945.
